Original job description

We are recruiting a Senior Accountant for an established, privately held manufacturing and distribution group headquartered in Chilliwack. Permanent role, with full ownership of the accounting cycle across three related entities.

This is a full cycle seat. You own the books end to end, from source transaction through to trial balance and month-end close, rather than handling one part of the cycle.

What you will own

Full cycle accounting across three related entities, from source transaction through to trial balance
Month-end close: journal entries, accruals, prepaids and all supporting working papers
Bank, credit card and intercompany reconciliations across the group
AP, AR and payroll, including remittances, T4s and records of employment
GST, PST and WorkSafeBC filings
Year-end working papers and liaison with the external accountants
Review of entries posted by junior AP and AR staff, catching coding errors before close
Process improvement and documentation across the finance function

What we are looking for

5+ years of full cycle accounting with genuine ownership through to trial balance. This is the single most important requirement
Demonstrated month-end close ownership, not close support
Multi-entity experience including intercompany reconciliations
Payroll processing experience
Strong systems aptitude. The group runs an industry specific ERP, so learning a demanding system quickly matters more than any one platform
Manufacturing, distribution, construction or building supply background is a strong asset
CPA is not required. This is a hands on role, not a designated reporting seat
Within a daily commute of Chilliwack. On site five days a week, no remote or hybrid option

What is on offer

$75,000 to $85,000 depending on experience
Extended health, dental and vision
Life and disability insurance
Employee assistance program
On-site parking, casual dress
A small finance team where the scope is real and the work is visible

How to apply

Send your resume to abe@hireloft.ca. All applications are treated in confidence and nothing is shared with our client without your permission.

HireLoft Recruitment places finance & accounting, construction & engineering, HR and operations talent with Canadian employers. All applications are confidential.

Responsibilities

Own full-cycle accounting across three related entities, including month-end close, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and tax and regulatory filings. Prepare year-end working papers, liaise with external accountants, review junior staff entries, and improve finance processes and documentation.

Requirements

Requires at least five years of full-cycle accounting experience with ownership through trial balance and demonstrated responsibility for month-end close. Multi-entity and intercompany reconciliation experience, payroll processing, strong systems aptitude, and the ability to commute to Chilliwack for on-site work are required; manufacturing, distribution, construction, or building supply experience is an asset.
