We are seeking an individual who takes genuine pride in providing exceptional front-desk service and enjoys the variety and pace of a busy professional office.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Operating a busy multi-line telephone system and directing incoming calls.
- Greeting and assisting clients, visitors and service providers.
- Receiving and distributing incoming mail, deliveries and electronic correspondence.
- Preparing and maintaining meeting rooms and reception areas.
- Performing general administrative, filing and office support duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A polished, professional demeanour with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A welcoming personality, positive attitude and strong sense of workplace etiquette.
- The ability to multitask, remain composed under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous reception experience in a law firm or other professional services environment, which will be considered a significant asset.
- The flexibility to accommodate occasional extended hours or full-day coverage when required.
An important consideration for this position is a genuine interest in ongoing, part-time Corporate Reception employment. While we recognize that individuals aspiring to become Legal Administrative Assistants may view this as an opportunity to enter the legal profession, preference may be given to applicants whose primary career interests align with the reception and general office responsibilities of this position.
This opportunity may be particularly appealing to experienced Legal Administrative Assistants or other administrative professionals who are interested in returning to the workforce, or transitioning to a part-time position with a more focused range of responsibilities, while remaining in a professional legal environment.
Baker Newby offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, a comprehensive benefits package, 2% RRSP matching after one year of employment and a variety of additional workplace perks.
Interested applicants are encouraged to include a brief explanation of their interest in this particular role and its part-time schedule.
We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
