About Legacy Biome
At Legacy Biome, we help dogs and cats feel like themselves again. Many pets struggle with ongoing gut and digestive issues, and their families have often tried everything. Our gut health products start with the donor animals we care for every day, so the care they receive matters to every pet we help. We are a small, hands-on team in Chilliwack, and everyone here plays a direct part in helping animals live healthier, happier lives.
The Role
Most of your time will be spent in our lab supporting sample processing, cleaning and documentation. The rest will be spent caring for our resident donor cats at a private property in Chilliwack. Above all, we are looking for someone who truly loves animals and follows procedures carefully. Please note: this position involves handling animal stool every day.
Reports to: the Lab Manager for lab work, and the owner for donor care.
Lab Support (majority of the role)
- Help process donor stool samples following our standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Clean and sanitize work areas, tools and equipment; run the dishwasher.
- Load, run and unload freeze dryers, and monitor and record each cycle.
- Restock lab supplies and shipping materials.
- Assist with solution prep, packaging and labelling, and other production or quality tasks as trained.
- Complete documentation accurately and follow SOPs every time.

- Clean litter boxes and living areas, and collect fresh stool samples on schedule.
- Keep accurate records of feeding, health observations and collections.
- Support routine sampling and veterinary visits as needed.
- Transport samples safely between the donor care property and the lab.

- Familiarity with aseptic technique, sanitation or detailed documentation practices.
Schedule

- $24 to $36 per hour, based on experience and education.
- Extended health benefits after the 90-day probation period.
